Alivia's Durham Bistro has opened in the beautifully restored building at the corner of Gregson and West Main streets in the Brightleaf district. The European-style bistro features something tasty for all the day's meals as well as a hearty selection of espressos and specialty coffee drinks. The atmosphere is comfortable; 3,000-square-foot setting rich in dark wood, some of it pulled from neighboring buildings, including wood paneling from the former Liggett & Myers boardroom and benches made with Honduran mahogany from the Studebaker building once occupied by the Weeping Radish.
